Fresh From the Farm, Right on Ali'i Drive

Locally grown produce, Kona coffee, and handmade crafts steps from the ocean, open five days a week.

About Us

Kona Farmers Market showcasing various fruits and local goods.
Kona Farmers Market showcasing various fruits and local goods.

Saturday morning on Ali'i Drive smells like ripe papaya, freshly brewed Kona coffee, and plumeria garlands still damp from the morning air. That is the Kona Farmers and Crafts Market in a single breath. Rated 4.3 stars across more than 5,500 reviews, this open-air market has become the go-to stop for visitors staying along the Kona coast and for locals who know that grocery store produce simply cannot compete with what farmers bring in fresh each day.

You will find multiple produce vendors selling tropical fruits and vegetables grown right here on the Big Island, alongside flower vendors, artisan crafters, and sellers of handmade gifts and apparel. Prices are fair, the canopy shade is welcome, and the pace is unhurried. Regulars from the nearby resorts often make it a morning ritual, loading up on avocados, starfruit, and fresh-cut flowers before the day heats up.

The market sits at 75-5767 Ali'i Dr in Kailua-Kona, putting it squarely in the middle of one of the most walkable stretches on the island. Whether you are hunting for the perfect jar of estate-grown coffee to bring home or just want to browse handcrafted jewelry with an ocean breeze at your back, this is the market that earns its place on every Kona itinerary.

What We Offer

The outdoor farmers market runs Wednesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, giving you a generous nine-hour window to shop at your own pace. Vendors rotate and restock throughout the week, so a Wednesday visit and a Saturday visit can feel like two different markets. Expect locally grown tropical produce, freshly cut flowers, Kona coffee from Big Island estates, hand-sewn clothing, carved woodwork, jewelry, and a range of Hawaiian-made gifts and souvenirs.

Beyond the in-person experience, the market also offers online vendor shopping so you can connect with specific artisans or browse select products before you arrive or after you leave. Community events round out the calendar, adding live demonstrations, seasonal specials, and local gatherings that give the market its neighborhood energy rather than a purely tourist feel.

If you are visiting Kailua-Kona for a few days, one trip here is practical. Two or three trips start to feel like a habit.

"First time here. Several vendor setups with fresh produce and a variety of souvenirs and clothing. All reasonably priced. All the as treet vendors were very friendly and helpful. Even better they had shade in each of their booths. Highly recommended for tourists, and easy accessible to cruise ship passengers coming ashore to explore."

"Was hoping for more unique finds, but a couple of decent fruit stands. While there are a lot of trinkets at decent prices, the vendors seem disengaged from their wares with one telling me that she was falling asleep. Would love to see more local artesians. Requires paid parking."

"We stayed at the Kona Royal Resort for a week and this is the best spot for fresh local produce. There are 3 produce vendors and they offered pretty much the same varieties of veggies and fruits at a reasonable price. Strawberry papaya, passion fruit, and star fruit are some of my favorite."

"Disappointing visit. Very little actual produce—mostly just souvenir stalls and crafts. Parking is expensive and the overall vibe isn't the authentic farmers market experience you’d expect. Better off going elsewhere"

"I loved this outdoor market. The fruits and vegetables are amazing. I didn't get too far past the fruits but looking around, there seems to be a great variety of artisan booths and others. Closed Monday and Tuesday."
